Sangalaki is surrounded by a shallow lagoon and the reefs start a distance out from the Island. Since there is so much shallow reef , there is a vast diversity of marine life. The area is a protected marine park thus the reefs are quite pristine.

The hard and sfot corals are amazing prolific with over 500 species. Sangalaki is a god place to see both large and micro marine creatures. When you look up to the surface after watching watching a colourful nudibranch, don’t be surprise to see a turtle or manta ray swimming by.
